Our Story

How Clare & Luke Met

Like all great lockdown love stories, Clare and Luke met on Hinge during Covid - back when all dates were socially distanced, all pubs were shut, and your best flirting happened over WhatsApp.

After some top-tier messaging (including Clare sending pics of her handmade animal origami and a snow cat built in her parents' garden), Luke convinced her to meet him at Bromley South. He rocked up in his pride and joy - a blue Ford Focus with a big exhaust, rear tinted windows, decals… and a very handsome man in the driver's seat, showing off the freshly inked start of his Star Wars sleeve. Clare raised an eyebrow and casually dropped the bombshell that she knew next to nothing about Star Wars. Luke considered turning around then and there.

But they powered through.

First date kicked off in classic Clare style: she was late, jumped in the car, and told Luke he was late. She wore a leopard print jumper and enough sass to make it work. Clare's excitable, full of ideas, sharp, and spontaneous - like living with a human firework. Some days it's go-go-go, other days it's sloth mode. Keeps things interesting.

They headed to Greenwich Park for the classic lockdown walk - it was nearly dark, almost shut, and totally empty. Clare's straight-talking broke the ice, and Luke brought out the charm with fun facts and landmark spotting. Somehow, he even scored a hug from the Ice Queen.

From there, things moved fast. Three dates in a week, and by the third, Luke asked Clare to be his missus. Smooth, confident, and slightly old-school - just how he likes it.

Soon they were booking up every half-decent Airbnb in the south of England, trying to outdo each other with who could pick the best one. One trip took them to Canterbury for Clare's birthday - fancy cocktails were flowing. And by “fancy,” we mean each one had a small upside-down bottle of Prosecco inside it. Luke, trying to keep up, got absolutely done in.

Later that same day, in true Luke fashion, he tried to bike back following Google Maps - which led him straight down a set of stairs. One dramatic tumble later, and boom: broken hand. Clare had to get help from a group of stoners in a nearby park who'd just shut their eyes after a joint. It was chaotic, painful, and honestly hilarious.

Opposites definitely attract. Clare's energy and sharp wit keep life exciting, while Luke's calm, grounded nature brings the balance - even if his silence still sometimes makes Clare think he's annoyed (he's not… he's just thinking about absolutely nothing).

They're both big on family, and in 2023, they became a team of three with their proudest achievement yet - the arrival of little Mila. Cheeky, pretty, and clever enough to know she can ignore everything Mum says and get away with murder when it comes to Dada.

Now they're getting married - still laughing, still in love, and still recovering from those Prosecco cocktails.

The Bulls Head in Chislehurst

This venue holds a very special place in our hearts - it's where Clare's parents celebrated their own wedding reception! The Bulls Head has been welcoming guests since the 18th century (they're not THAT old) and offers the perfect blend of elegance and warmth for our celebration.

We're continuing the love story at this beautiful historic venue. With its gorgeous gardens, traditional British pub atmosphere, and excellent food, we know you'll love it as much as we do!
